If you already have an estate plan, it is important to make sure it meets your current needs and if your life has changed, it changes with you. Some examples of important times to make sure your estate plan is updated would be the death of a family member or beneficiary, divorce, the birth of a child, significant change in wealth and changes in relationships to people named as executors / trustees / guardians. Generally speaking, it’s a good idea to have your estate plan reviewed every few years anyway. Legacy Law Center can review existing estate plans (even if we didn’t draft it) at a reasonable cost and determine whether changes need to made to documents or new documents need to be drafted and executed. Either way, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your estate plan is current and the right fit for you and your family.
